Ashley M. Smith was first appointed to the PERA board in 2021, and began her second appointment in February, 2024. She is the Director of Corporate Strategy and Development at Pinnacol Assurance.

Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration from Adams State College in 2009 and a Certificate for the Executive Data Science Specialization from The Johns Hopkins University in 2018. Ms. Smith volunteers regularly for the Denver Animal Shelter providing foster care for vulnerable animals.
