DENVER -- The Colorado PERA Board of Trustees has elected Taylor McLemore to be Board Vice Chair. The Board elected McLemore to the position at its Jan. 19 meeting; his one-year term begins in February. McLemore was appointed to the Board by Gov. Polis in 2021. He is the Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and General Partner at Future State Ventures. McLemore is currently the Chair of the Board’s Executive Director Search Ad Hoc Committee.
The outgoing board vice chair, Suzanne E. Kubec, is retiring from her position with the State Office of Risk Management within the Department of Personnel and Administration and will be leaving the Board at the end of January.
To fill the vacant State Division seat as a result of Kubec’s retirement, the PERA Board appointed Ashley M. Smith, who was the runner-up in the last State Division election. She is the Director of Corporate Strategy and Development at Pinnacol Assurance and previously served on the Board in 2021. Smith’s term will begin on Feb. 1, 2024, and will end on July 1, 2025.
