Voluntary Life Insurance Open Enrollment: Ends May 31

The best time to plan for an emergency is before tragedy hits. That's why it's important to make sure your employees know they have an additional life insurance option through PERA. Signing up for PERA’s life insurance today creates financial preparedness if the unthinkable happens tomorrow.

The PERA life insurance program is a great complement to the PERA survivor benefit and other protections that you as the employer may offer. The PERA life insurance program covers the PERA member, their spouse, and children until their 21st birthday, and includes the following benefits:

  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit
  • Optional continued coverage into retirement
  • Early access to benefits if covered member is diagnosed with a terminal illness
  • Access to free life planning and legal assistance in the event of a terminal illness or death

Your employees can enroll online by logging into their PERA account using their User ID and password, or they can print the enrollment form and mail it to Unum.

If your employees enroll during the open enrollment period, they will not be asked any health questions or have to take a physical exam.
